Frequently Asked Questions

  • How is tuition structured?
Tuition is a flat monthly fee based on lesson length: 30 minutes: $150/month 45 minutes: $215/month 60 minutes: $280/month Payments are processed automatically on the 1st, 5th, or 10th of each month.
  • Do you have a registration fee?
No. Freeway Music does not charge a registration fee.
  • What happens if my payment fails?
Failed auto-payments must be resolved by the 20th. Non-payment can result in losing your lesson slot. Returned checks incur a $25 fee.
  • Are refunds offered for missed lessons or cancellations?
No tuition refunds are issued under any circumstances. However, if Freeway terminates the membership, a prorated refund is given.
  • Do you offer music lessons in the summer?
Yes. We are open for lessons year-round, and our teachers find that summer lessons are a great time for student growth due to less overall distraction and activities vying for your time. We can be flexible around your summer vacation schedule. Please work with your teacher in advance to discuss when you will be out of town, and they will do their best to accommodate you.
  • Can I switch teachers or instruments?
Yes, with at least 21 days’ notice prior to the next billing cycle.
  • What if my teacher cancels?
A substitute teacher will be arranged or a make-up credit issued (these credits don’t expire until membership ends). Regular cancellation rules still apply with subs.
  • Are materials and instruments included?
No. Books, materials, and instruments are additional and not provided by Freeway Music. Your teacher can help guide purchases.
  • What is the attendance and make-up lesson policy?
Arrive 10 minutes early to avoid losing lesson time. 24-hour notice is required to earn a make-up credit (one pending credit allowed at a time). Credits expire after 14 days and can’t be rescheduled once booked. Late notice (including same-day illness) does not qualify for a credit, but virtual attendance is encouraged if you're able.
  • How do I cancel my membership?
Complete the online cancellation form by the 7th of the month for it to take effect at month-end. Missed this deadline? The following month will be your final month of lessons and billing. Cancellation ends your access to recitals, events, and unused make-up credits.
  • Are recitals and student showcases mandatory?
No. You do not have to take advantage of Freeway Music performance opportunities. If you would like to participate in something, please mention it to your teacher and they can get you information on the next available opportunities.
  • What performance opportunities do you offer?
Freeway Music instructors offer a variety of performance opportunities. These can vary by the location in which you are enrolled and by the teacher. Some examples of our performance opportunities include: teacher studio recitals, location-wide student showcases (full-band, contemporary shows), student demo recording, student solo and group gigs at local restaurants.
